Frequently Asked Questions

Does Not Your Everyday Therapy Services Accept My Insurance?

Most likely! We accept several major insurances to include Medicaid, Soonercare, Sooner Select, Aetna, BlueCross, Tricare, Kempton, United Healthcare, and many more. Feel free to contact us at 405.464.8484 with any questions.

Provider Type:  Speech therapy is administered by professionals including Board Certified Speech-Language Pathologists as well as Board Certified Speech Pathology Assistants. Occupational Therapy is administered by both Board Certified Occupational Therapists and assistants. ABA therapy is administered by Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts, and Registered Behavior Technicians. The qualifications, experience,  ethical responsibilities, and scope of practice influence service costs.

Intensity and Duration:  The recommended intensity and duration for any service provided at Not Your Everyday Therapy Services varies significantly. Speech Therapy varies from 1 time per month to 5 days a week. Speech therapy sessions can be from thirty minutes to an hour. Similarly, Occupational therapy can range from 1 time per month to 5 days a week for thirty minutes to one hour in duration. ABA therapy can vary from 5 hours per week to 40 hours per week. Intensity and duration are established based on evaluation results, family capacity, response to intervention, and prognosis.

Insurance Coverage: Insurance coverage for pediatric services has become commonplace to some degree. Most Commercial and Medicaid insurance cover services to some degree. However, coverage specifics vary widely among insurance plans. Families must carefully review their policies to understand coverage limits, copayments, deductibles, and any out-of-pocket maximums that apply. At Not Your Everyday Therapy we work with your family to understand how insurance might cover services.

If your child has never been evaluated by a Speech and Language Pathologist and is under the age of 5, a comprehensive evaluation would look at all areas of speech and language development, similar to how a child receives a comprehensive well-child check annually from their pediatrician. A single area evaluation looks at a specific area that may have been previously identified such as stuttering, articulation delays, etc.

Yes, we do! SLPa’s and OTa’s will provide services under the direct supervision of an SLP or OT. Services rendered by an SLPa or OTa are payor-specific.

Payment for services outside of insurance filing will be processed on the same day of service through a secure payment software. Parents can request/elect to keep a card on file using the payment software. See policies and procedures for more details.

The frequency of sessions is determined based on multiple factors and will be discussed with you during the initial evaluation. We wish we had this answer!

Evaluation length varies due to many variables. We ask families to plan at least an hour and a half for the evaluation to be completed.

Switching providers is easy, We will ask you to complete an extra form during intake. We always encourage families to be transparent with the provider they are leaving and work with them to establish an official transition date. All providers in our state want to work together to provide the easiest transition possible to support continuity of care for your family.

Once the evaluation session is completed. We strive to complete evaluation reports within 7 business days. Once the evaluation is completed it can take an additional 3-30 business days to schedule your first treatment sessions depending on the authorization requirements of your specific insurance policy or authorization speech of your specific insurance policy. If authorization is not required the timeline is significantly quicker.

At your child’s next doctor’s appointment, you can ask your pediatrician to fax a referral to us at 405.883.3061.

YES! We encourage parent participation in evaluations and treatment. We will discuss the need and amount of participation with you directly.

In the United States, hourly rates for ABA therapy typically range from $50 to $150 per hour. For families committing to intensive therapy schedules, monthly costs can amount to several thousand dollars. For example, a 12-hour-a-week ABA program with an average billable rate of $75 would cost $45,000 annually.

Depending on the insurance coverage, individuals should expect to meet an insurance deductible in the first three months of therapy and out-of-pocket maximum (MOOP) within six months. You can find your deductible, copay, coinsurance, and MOOP information on your health insurance Summary of Benefits and Coverage document.

Despite these expenses, many families find the investment worthwhile due to the significant improvements in their loved ones’ behaviors, communication skills, and independence.
